Put me Down

So it's been an interesting month! My car, Red Socks, has been sluggin along!... barely gettin me to work each day, and I have been living in constant anxiety wondering when he's gonna break down! Luckily, good ol' Matt found me a shiny new buick le sabre and towed it to St. Louis for me... what a good friend ya?? seriously. The trip to St. Louis on Labor Day weekend was a bit crazy. First off, let me tell you that I have taken a Greyhound once before in my youth... and I vowed that I would NEVER do it again... so what did I do, I did it again. Took a Greyhound up to St. Louis.. clutching my Mase with all my might!! I sat next to this guy that kept fallin asleep on me... and he moaned... not when he was asleep.. but when he was awake... I was not comfortable with that situation. In the end, I made it to St. Louis Louis where I was greeted by BJ (matt's brother) and soon.. the one and only Matt... and then.... my new baby... Lil' Rusty... Russ for short
The rest of the trip was all fun and games... we went to Six Flags and road rides till I threw up... and the boys made fun... and then went to a big Rib dinner! so good... and finally I had to return home and start work back up again.. ugh...

Work is going well though!.. I hate working.. but I love my job... I don't get paid enough, but I get paid. so I guess beggers can't be choosers. I'm still nannying about 15-20 hours a week. which is nice to have that extra money. and this weekend I got a raise! woo hoo...

I got my hold removed on my registration for school so I can finally re-apply! which I will do in about a month or so... I'm SOOO ready to start school back up.. I just can't wait.

That's all for now!

Long Time Coming

I haven't updated in a long time, so here's what's going on!

Well the Carlyon kids started school last week, so I had to find a new job! I start teaching at Primrose School as a Toddler teacher on monday! I'm so excited, I'll have 9 little ones! On friday my co-teacher Sydney and I got to go set up our class room and it's just so cute! we did a circus theme, i'll have to post pictures. I still have not sold my car! I learned that I just don't have the credit to buy another car, so I have to wait a little while. I have an appointment to get my car checked out out on tuesday which should help my anxiety a little bit. Having to drive half hour to and from work everyday with an undiagnosed car problem is a little unsettling!

I recently made the decision to go back to school! which i'm so excited for. It'll be a while before i get there. Gotta save up a little money, and get the car situation handled, then I should be good to go! I'm hoping i can do some online classes until I get in full time... as of now the plan is to be in Idaho by March ish.. maybe sooner, maybe later.. we'll see

until next time! I'm out!

That's why i come to church

So on sunday the kids agreed to come to church with me as long as they could go to they're other babysitters church.. which was totally a hole in the wall baptist church!!... and I got this clip of these guys that were singin! they were legit guys! had cd's for sale and had handkercheifs for singing in the old church with no air conditioning.. my favorite is Nicely Nicely Johnson in the middle.. i'm pretty sure it doesn't get more Tennessee than this... Is it sacreligious that this makes me laugh EVERYTIME!?

Also, the missionaries have been stopping by randomly and unannounced to play with the kids (give me a break) so we got some fun picks of them with the kids too!

Notice Jr. Mr. T down in the corner there...

The Mama's and the Papa's

Elli (3) Winter (11) Tague (9) Ri (7) Anavah (7) Laythi (5)
For those who don't know, I took on a nannying job about 2 months ago. The pay is good, perks are awesome, and I stay very busy. There are 6 kids ranging from 3-11 yrs old, one of them is deaf ( but has a hearing aid that helps a bit) It's tough work!...

Well yesterday morning around 4am, both parents left for a 2 week cruise. leaving me to tend to, what I had assumed the past 2 months, their 6 well mannered, someone well behaved children. It is now only the ending of day 2/14 and i'm not sure i'm gonna make it!

But in a desperate attempt to provide myself with comic relief, I thought i'd share a few things that i learned so far.

1. Be careful not to bribe!!... but never underestimate the power of candy

2. All the rules to those fun games you learned as a child, have now been "revised", and are subject to change depending on who's playing, and who can yell the loudest

3. Every child CRAVES attention, whether good or bad

4. Don't ever assume you can get away with "not now, maybe later" ... They ALWAYS remember

5. Children have a heightened sense of smell for three things: cookies, poop, and fear

6. When fits begin, and crying worsens, yelling back doesn't help, so run away and lock yourself in a room or closet, and hope they figure it out themselves

7. Reverse psychology is my friend, sarcasm is NOT

8. The fastest growing, most provident and troublesome problem in kids today is NOT obesity, it is selective hearing

which brings us to number 9

9. Don't try to talk to the kids when the T.V. is on.... that's just plain rude

10. Know all of your exits!

Dear Journal

I just wanted to take a minute to say how overwhelmed I am with life right now... it's a good thing! really!..
I don't think I've been this happy in a long time... ever that I can remember! and it's so strange because I miss everyone SOOO much I can't even describe!... yet I feel so important, and needed, and at home... in a place where I can count the people I know on 1 hand... How is that even possible!?!

I've never seen or imagined a place more beautiful... I've never dreamed that I would feel this way about life for a long time... it's truely the strangest thing I've ever been through.

I've been extremely active in Church duties, I just got called to teach 9 year olds on sunday, I've been working with the missionaries in the ward, teaching some investigators, I'm starting institute this week, I go to all my firesides, ... I mean seriously! look at me go!! 6 months ago I wasn't doing ANYTHING that had anything to do with church... I'm pretty dang proud!... and not only that.. but I've been SO blessed with peacefulness, and comfort... knowing that I'm doing what's right...

I was sitting in sacrament today, thinking about my passed couple of weeks, and things that I might have done that I need to work on.. or repent.. or SOMETHING.. and for the first time in my life.. I couldn't think of a single thing that I had done in the passed 2 weeks that I've regreted... I'm not saying I'm perfect by any means, but if any of you have ever had that feeling.. i'm sure it's something you'll remember for the rest of your life..

I've gotten to the point where all I want to do is learn the Gospel, serve the Lord, and I don't care about ANYTHING else!... it's incredible...
anyway... thanks for reading my Novel...

Much Love

First Adventure

K well i'm brand new to this whole blogging thing so no making fun!

I finally made it to Tennessee! barely! so let's all gather round now and let Miss Amber tell you a story next to this here campfire.

well I left Idaho Falls around 0640 hrs-that's military time, (which by the way was the HARDEST thing I've ever had to do, hands down, I hate goodbyes)
Henyway, so I make it to SLC where I pick up Abi, and we head off. We stop in Park City to get gas- effing $2.40/ gallon! so I gave those spoiled brats my money and took off up the Rockies.
We get to Laramie WY and we're famished! so we stop at MickyD's for some nurishment. Mind you it is now its 3 o'clock in the PM and there's like 500 people at the restaurant. Not sure where that connection is, but hey. So we order some food from this oriental chick who didn't speak english but i guess learned that constantly smiling made the world a better place. Sure as hell didn't stop me from havin to take out a loan to buy a STALE nugget meal. Where am I disneyland? no... Laramie, WY... but close!... So we're clearly not a fan of WY.
Next stop Denver!... makin some good time! we finally make it to the Forsyth's welcoming abode, blow up an airmatty, pop in JM's "where the light is" and pass out for the night...

... 05.01.09 approx 0700 hrs
we take off for St Louis... paid about 12 dollars in Tolls just to get out of Denver and made it about 20 miles east of the city and my Transmission just stops working.. i lose fourth gear, and 3rd is slippin bad, so we pull into this po-dunk town called Bennett, CO and talk to a mechanic. quoting me 2 grand for a used tranny that can't be here till Thurs. so we left that place and head to the city, to make a long story short had to find a used tranny and a good mechanic in a town where I knew absolutely no one. Cost me 1500 bones but we were back on the road by Saturday night.
We drove to straight through to St. Loui Loui, made it there by about 9am and Matt's brother BJ lives there so we called him up... didn't answer but we needed sleep.. so we pulled into a Lowe's parking lot, and just slept in the car. Every once in a while a couple would walk by and say somethin to the likings of "what did they just pack up everything and decide to run away to a Lowe's Parking lot??.... Idaho? (refering to the license plate) where's Idaho".. thinking that we can't hear them, and then I would "wake up" and give them a dirty look and they'd get really creeped out... I liked that.
so we finally get a hold of Beej, and we go crash on his bedroom floor for an hour, wake up and swap stories a bit, then he stocks us up with some energy drinks and sends us on our way.
the rest of the stories pretty boring, we made it to Spring Hill, TN bout 6pm.
now all I do all day is job hunt and punch bugs in the face.
